Kayak Trail
Sun, 26 Jan 2020 08:00:00 +0000

While the walking trails at Four Mile Cove Ecological Preserve are open 365 days a year; the Kayak Shack Outpost is open seasonally, weekends only from November thru May. During regular operating hours, the Kayak Shack Outpost offers single and tandem kayak rentals. The kayak trail at this preserve is not really for beginners because it is narrow in some areas and there is a portage where you will have to get in and out of your boat on your own. Four hours is the recommended rental choice because the best part of the park is on the east side of the portage. After the portage, there are no homes, no roads, just you and mother nature :) **Please note - this preserve has some swampy areas in it, and can be buggy at certain times of the year. That means be prepared for mosquitoes and deer flies when you visit* Kayak Rental Rates Single kayak: $30/four hours; $20/two hours; $10/hr additional hours Tandem kayak: $45/four hours; $30/two hours; $15/hr additional hours Four hours is the recommended rental choice for best exploration of the area!
