Home School - Living History of the Leu House
Fri, 17 May 2019 10:00:00 +0000

Living History of the Leu House  Home School family class May 17, 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The historic Leu House dates back to 1858. Over the years it had four interesting owners. In this class we will go back in time to imagine their lives and just what Orlando was like in the days they each called the property home. Through a partnership with the Orange County Regional History Center, their stories will come “alive” with a living history actor. Home School classes are priced for one adult and up to two children to attend. The classes are primarily geared for 9 to 12 year olds, although younger children are welcome and the parent or guardian is encouraged to help them with projects. Instructor:  Sandi Linn, Education Supervisor. Prior to working at Leu Gardens, Sandi was the Director of Education at the Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens, and then the Curator of Education at the Orange County Regional History Center.  She also worked for Savenature.org's Insect Dicovery Lab - Florida.  She is the author of Invasive Species, a YA fictional novel incorporating real environmental concepts.
